History American Auto-Matrix (AAM) was founded in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, U.S.A. in 1979 as Innovative Technology, Inc (ITI), and began as a custom engineering and consulting group manufacturing specialty electronic equipment for European customer base. In 1982 the company became American Auto-Matrix, Inc. and introduced the AI2100 Building Brain®. It was the first facilities automation system in the world to offer an open communications protocol, generation-to-generation compatibility, distributed intelligence, direct digital control (DDC), and object-oriented programming. Through the years American Auto-Matrix has positioned itself as a worldwide leader in providing “Smart Building Solutions”®. AAM provides solutions for HVAC, Access, Lighting, Light Process and Laboratory and Fume Hood control as well as unparalleled support, service and training facilities. In December 2002, American Auto-Matrix was purchased by Jordan Acquisition Group, LLC, a group of private U.S. Investors. In 2006, the company officially became a Service Disabled Veteran, Woman Owned Business enterprise (SDVOSB/WOB), opening more opportunities for growth and strategic development to an already expanding American owned company. This is directly a result of the American Auto-Matrix philosophy to create multiple venues for our network of Solution Integrators to succeed.
