The GiftRAP Corporation was conceived in 1992 as a result of the committed efforts of Cathleen & Steve Mackie and their partner Randy Wallin. Steve and Randy, pioneers in the use of data management tools for a variety of industries, worked to support Cathy's efforts as a registered nurse, in making the original Resident Assessment Instrument (RAI) an easy-to-use care management tool for the nursing home in which she worked. The team's unique ability to develop the easiest-to-use tool for the collection of information is a hallmark of every GiftRAP system. It is one of the initial founding tenets that still separate the corporation from its competitors today. The passion for excellence was so great that when it came to naming the tool and the company, the simple choice was evident; our GIFT to our users was ease-of-use in completing the mandated Resident Assessment Protocols (RAP) and thus GiftRAP was born. As Cathy and her colleagues in South Florida experienced the ease-of-use, reliability, and the platinum level customer support, word spread. By 1995 over 50 nursing homes employed the systems and services of the growing corporation. With the advent of the government's adoption of a prospective payment system (PPS) in 1998, the tool became more than a user-friendly data collection device; it became an essential element in the financial survival of its customers. By 1999, the product was converted into a Windows-based application delivering exceptional data management tools that allows measurement of performance criteria, tracking assessment due dates, and accurate & reliable PPS information essential to the health of revenue streams. As the corporation continued in rounding out its product base, GiftRAP's reputation flourished. Personal service was a telephone call away. Customers became our friends and these relationships set a standard we are committed to keeping-- personal service that delivers results when the customer needs it most. Historical customer support surveys deliver a track record of unparalleled customer satisfaction. In yearly surveys, over 80% of our customers return completed surveys with over 98% reporting Good, Excellent, or Superior service experiences.
