Rhodes-Murphy & Co. built on early success to modify and enhance the business. In 1980, Aubrey Rhodes Sr. passed away and his son, Jimmy Rhodes, was elected president. Under new leadership, the company added an income tax school to teach potential employees tax preparation skills. Carl Rhodes and Zane D. Christopher Jr. became members of the company's board of directors in 1984.
