Bak USA is a technology start-up business based in Buffalo, New York. Founded in 2014 by Ulla, JP and Christian Bak in collaboration with the Start-Up NY program, the company was set up with the aim of creating up to 100 jobs in the Buffalo-Niagara region through the assembly of US-based tablet PCs and phones. Since September 2014, our family has expanded from a core team of ambitious entrepreneurs to more than 15 employees and the company will continue to grow as we increase our capacity month by month. Beginning November 24, 2014, Bak USA will train local operators in our very own factory in Downtown Buffalo to assemble thousands of tablets for month for wholesale deliveries to educational, governmental and regional development organizations around the world. In turn, these devices are used to connect communities in second wave developing countries with low quality infrastructure, as well as for educational purposes in areas with high levels of unemployment and illiteracy. While our tablets aren’t available yet for individual purchases online, Bak USA is planning an exclusive limited release of Bak tablets within New York State beginning in January 2015.
